In March 1996 we purchased a beautiful 1 acre lot in Golf Course #
6. Since retirement was still a fewyears away, we would come down several times a year and visit our lot. We would discuss what type of house we would build and how we would situate it on the lot. Finally, we both retired in January 1999 and came down to Pinehurst. To ensure that we had chosen the right retirement location, we rented for 8 months, from April to November. Happily, within a month we were interviewing builders. We had been given Bonville Construction by one of Bill’s golfing buddies who had a beautiful house built by them several years earlier. After meeting with George and Ken Bonville and visiting several of the homes they had built, including our friends home, we were quite comfortable in deciding to have them build our new home. We were very happy that they had their own architect who we were able to work with to design our dream house for a very reasonable price. We also were pleased that Ken worked with us on situating the house perfectly on our lot, which is quite elevated and broad. In addition, since we would be in New York during the building process, it was very important to us that we have a builder we could trust and work with long distance. Bonville Construction proved to be the perfect choice –they were in constant touch with us by phone & fax and always made sure we were informed of every step along the way. Every friend and family member who has visited our home has remarked on both the quality and design of the house. We couldn ‘t be happier with our home, it more than fulfilled our expectations.
