To Whom It May Concern
In 1994, we purchased a lakefront lot in Pinewild Country Club intending to retire and build a home in 2000. During the next several years on trips to Pinehurst, we would ask residents we met for recommendations on the top quality builders in the area -Bonville Construction was always mentioned. We interviewed several builders on those trips; then, on a visit in 1998, when we asked a pjnewild couple we had just met over lunch for builder recommendations, they said, “We really felt Bonville was the best but we thought their standards were a bit rigid, so we went with xYZ Co. who wasn’t quite as fussy.” When we asked what they meant by “rigid” standards they said, “Oh -Bonville insists on using extra steel in the foundation, engineered floor trusses, heavy parralam beams over arches and large openings, and insulation in interior walls -things that they say make for a stronger, tighter house.” We walked away from that lunch thinking we’ve got to meet these “rigid” people from Bonville because that’s exactly what we were looking for!
That afternoon we called and spoke to George Bonville, met with he and Ken Bonville the next day, talked about our timetable and thoughts on the type of house we wanted to build, and heard Bonville’s story, including their ability to work with us on designing our house from scratch. George also drove us to a half dozen homes of the size and style we were thinking of that they had under construction or recently finished. The quality of their work was clearly evident and their knowledge, honesty, and professionalism sold us. We signed a design agreement and over the next eighteen months, sending them rough sketches of floor plans through the mail, they designed our dream house.
We rented a house in Pinehurst while ours was being built and the construction process couldn’t have been smoother. Communication was excellent. We’re convinced that Bonville has the very best sub-contractors in the area -carpenters, brick masons, electricians, plumbers, sheetrock
and plaster crews, and painters -that take real pride in their work and produce top quality results. Their interior trim and cabinet men are just outstanding craftsmen. We couldn’t be more pleased or more proud of our home.
I have since spent three years serving on our community’s architectural review board and have reviewed plans and followed the construction on nearly 100 custom-built homes. Few match the quality of design or construction of a Bonville home. From my personal experience and what I’ve observed of other builders, I don’t hesitate in saying that Bonville Construction is the finest builder in the Pinehurst area.
