KENNETH J. BONVILLE

President | Co-Founder | Engineer

Ken is the president of Bonville Construction Company, Inc. He received his BS from the United States Military Academy in Civil Engineering in 1983. After serving in the United States Army, Ken moved to Pinehurst in 1988, founded Bonville Construction Company, and became licensed as a General Contractor.

In 2007, Ken became interested in expanding his business into renewable energy. At that time, he attended North Carolina State University and graduated from the Renewable Energy Technologies and Photovoltaic Systems program. He received his NABCEP (North American Board of Energy Practitioners) Installer Certification and has completed over 100 residential and commercial solar photovoltaic installations in the state of North Carolina.

JOHN EDWARD MCFAY II

Principal Architect

John is the principal residential and commercial designer with Bonville Construction. In addition, he serves as Project Manager and Coordinator of all projects, directing the rest of the team. John joined Bonville Construction in 1994 and has a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Michigan’s Lawrence Technological University. He is credited with numerous award-winning projects and designs encompassing new construction, remodels, and renovations.

PATRICK KIRKLAND

Solar Sales and Installation
Patrick has called North Carolina home for over 50 years. Since graduating from NC State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, he has worked in the energy sector and developed a passion for understanding and supplying reliable and efficient methods for customers to heat, cool, and power their homes and businesses. The growth of solar/battery technology now allows him to provide customers the opportunity to capitalize on a sustainable future for their energy needs. Patrick looks forward to a future when promoting clean energy makes this technology the “normal” energy source. During his time with Bonville construction, he has installed over 50 commercial and residential solar photovoltaic systems. In addition, he has installed numerous hybrid systems, which include batteries and generators.

MICHAEL LANCASTER

Lead Carpenter
Mike is our lead carpenter at Bonville Construction. Originally from Illinois, Mike graduated from Granite City Senior High School. He received a two-year certificate from Rankin School of Mechanical Trades for CNC (computer numerical control) operation and general management. He was employed as a journeyman machinist for ten years at Pioneer Machine Company, a Boeing contractor. After the recession, his family relocated to Missouri, where he met his wife, who owned and operated a restaurant. They managed the restaurant together while Mike pursued a career in construction. Mike shared that he had a terrific mentor who gave him the best gift by teaching him to create people’s forever dreams. In 2019, his family moved to the East Coast. He joined Bonville Construction to continue his dream of building high-quality homes. He and his wife love to travel and explore new places with their daughter. He looks forward to creating a promising future for all of them.

Construction Superintendent

Dave is the lead construction superintendent for Bonville Construction who oversees the carpentry and various subcontracting crews working on site. He has over 30 years of construction and remodeling experience. Dave also serves as a CAD designer, in conjunction with John McFay, chief architect, on all design projects. Dave is a certified Trex and Green Bay Decking Pro. He started his career with Bonville Construction in 2014.

JABIER GONZALEZ

Carpenter/Finish Specialist
Jabier is originally from Austin, Texas but moved to North Carolina with his family 15 years ago. He graduated from Union Pines High School in 2018. He started working at Bonville Construction as a carpenter and finish specialist after graduation. He learned much of his construction knowledge on the job from the Bonville Construction team. In 2020, he started a family business with his dad and brother, José, called Father and Son Quality Painting, a Bonville subcontractor.

Carpenter/Equipment Operator
José is the lead carpenter and primary equipment operator at Bonville Construction. He moved from Austin, Texas, to Moore County in 2006. After high school, he began in the construction world as a painter, and he started working with Bonville Construction in 2020. He has learned a lot about carpentry from the Bonville Construction crew and is now learning to be a CAD draftsman for the design team. In 2020, he started a family business with his dad and brother, Jabier, called Father and Son Quality Painting, a Bonville subcontractor.

JONATHON CHAPMAN

Cabinet Designer/Millwork Specialist

Jonathan is the owner of Chapman’s Kitchen and Bath and has partnered with Bonville Construction since the 1990s to provide all cabinetry and specialty millwork for our clients. After serving in the Navy, he began his career in construction in the mid-’80s. His love for millwork led him to start a cabinet company in the late ’90s. Chapman’s creates kitchen and bath cabinetry, entertainment areas, built-ins, mantels, and outdoor kitchens. Recently he has started building custom furniture. Jonathan has had Advanced Design education using the latest cabinet CAD systems.
